As a section of the Camping and Caravanning Club, all our camping events are open to Camping and Caravanning Club members (including Canoe-camping Club members) only. Anyone participating must be a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club before attending a meet.

Please remember to bring your Club membership cards to all club events, since we are required to check and record memberships are current.  We also need to record Paddle UK numbers for those who have them.
Paddlers need to be a member of the Canoe-camping Club and/or one of The UK's paddlesport National Governing Bodies*.  These are needed to ensure that we are covered by the Club's and Paddle UK's insurance.

Canoeing and kayaking are ‘assumed risk’ ‘water contact’ activities, however serious accidents are very rare.
Participants should be aware of and accept these risks, and be responsible for their own action and involvement.
All participants in club trips or meets do so at their own risk, and neither the Club nor its officers can accept any liability for loss or injury of any kind sustained whilst on a Club trip, meet or other activity.

EASTER MEET - MONMOUTHSHIRE and BRECON CANAL M6754, M6759, M3, M6748
From Thursday 17 April 2025
To Monday 21 April 2025

Pontypool to Brecon

This year’s tour takes us from south to north, opposite to the way we’ve done it in the past.  For those not in a hurry, camping will also be available (at additional cost) at the final campsite on following days.

As usual, base campers will need to arrange daily car shuttles among themselves.

A licence is required to be displayed whilst paddling the canal.  Paddle UK, Canoe Wales, Paddle Scotland, Paddle Northern Ireland membership card covers this.  Otherwise, licences are available from www.canalrivertrust.org.uk

Before travelling to this meet paddlers must CHECK, CLEAN, DRY all of their kit.  Although all campsites are near the canal, a portage trolley is essential.

Ability

All paddlers must have appropriate skills and equipment to cope with this type of water

Responsibility

The Easter Meet is an event which is organised for our members but is without leadership on the water.

More detailed information about the meet is here with the booking form here.
