The intention is to paddle out and back from Saul Junction on each day. There are toilets, a cafe and car parking here (fee charged).
Saul Junction is midway on the canal, being both 8 miles from Gloucester Docks and 8 miles from Sharpness Docks.
This is a pretty and historically interesting waterway, with great views over the Severn estuary from the towpath at the Sharpness end.
If the weather is favourable it would be good to do a full 16 miles each day. The Sunday trip could be modified in favour of those wishing to return home earlier.
(This trip is not recommended for novices as the canal is a wide, deep ship canal and has no flow to assist progress and can occasionally be quite windy, and the intention is to do as much of it as possible.)
If you wish to camp nearby, then Margaret can let you know of suitable campsites. Please contact her before Fri 28th May.
