As a section of the Camping and Caravanning Club, all our camping events are open to Camping and Caravanning Club members (including Canoe-camping Club members) only. Anyone participating must be a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club before attending a meet.

Please remember to bring your Club membership cards to all club events, since we are required to check and record memberships are current.  We also need to record BRITISH CANOEING numbers for those who have them. Paddlers need to be a member of the Canoe-camping Club and/or one of Britain's paddlesport National Governing Bodies*.   These are needed to ensure that we are covered by the Club's and British Canoeing's insurance.
Canoeing and kayaking are ‘assumed risk’ ‘water contact’ activities, however serious accidents are very rare.
Participants should be aware of and accept these risks, and be responsible for their own action and involvement.
All participants in club trips or meets do so at their own risk, and neither the Club nor its officers can accept any liability for loss or injury of any kind sustained whilst on a Club trip, meet or other activity.

This is a relatively new trip for us - so details are a bit flexible…;o)

  • We are Base Camping at Reedham Ferry touring park, Ferry Road, Reedham, Norwich, Norfolk, NR13 3HA.
  • Big Site Ref 134 345 Best route to the site is via Acle
  • Costs probably about £12 per night. (depends on numbers)
  • There is an adjacent pub selling food. See here http://www.reedhamferry.co.uk/

The plan for the entire weekend is not fixed, as it will be dependant on the weather on the days! However on Saturday morning it is hoped that we will paddle into the Broads from the Sea at Great Yarmouth, and paddle up River to camp at Reedham Ferry. Sunday will be a river paddle.

If the weather is poor (strong wind at Yarmouth) there will be trips on the River Yare & Waveney on both days.

The 'Sea' trip is only suitable for experienced paddlers with suitable boats, although we will only be on the 'sea' for a short distance.
Please contact Pete if you have any concerns or questions. There is no reason why non sea paddlers shouldn’t come and paddle on the rivers on Saturday and Sunday, although the runs may need to be self led!

The site is wonderfully positioned alongside the river, and there is an ideal tent camping section - with a BBQ area if required.

I have reserved us some space - but please let me know ASAP if you wish to come - so I can confirm the numbers.

There are electric hook -ups available for the 'camper vanners' amongst us - please contact the site directly - and mention you are with me / the Canoe Camping Club party.
