As with all upper river trips, fallen trees and similar obstacles may be encountered, so this trip is only suitable for reasonably agile, experienced paddlers (at least 2 star or equivalent), and easily-manoeuvrable, robust boats (plastic best, no inflatables).
The exact route to be paddled will depend on conditions at the time, but it will be in the North Bedfordshire/ Milton Keynes area, with a car shuttle, and of around 10 -11.5 miles. There is a choice of at least 4 non-overlapping sections, some of which are unsuitable in low water levels and some unsuitable in high water levels, with a fallback of a trip on the navigation if river conditions dictate. We will meet at the put-in at 9.30 am, whatever route is chosen.

I will let you know the proposed route and meeting place a few days before the trip, when I have some idea of weather and river conditions.
