As a section of the Camping and Caravanning Club, all our camping events are open to Camping and Caravanning Club members (including Canoe-camping Club members) only. Anyone participating must be a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club before attending a meet.

Please remember to bring your Club membership cards to all club events, since we are required to check and record memberships are current.  We also need to record BRITISH CANOEING numbers for those who have them. Paddlers need to be a member of the Canoe-camping Club and/or one of Britain's paddlesport National Governing Bodies*.   These are needed to ensure that we are covered by the Club's and British Canoeing's insurance.
Canoeing and kayaking are ‘assumed risk’ ‘water contact’ activities, however serious accidents are very rare.
Participants should be aware of and accept these risks, and be responsible for their own action and involvement.
All participants in club trips or meets do so at their own risk, and neither the Club nor its officers can accept any liability for loss or injury of any kind sustained whilst on a Club trip, meet or other activity.

Saturday’s run. Plan is to depart from Arundel at local high water 11.45 and paddle on the ebb tide to Littlehampton. 13 miles. About 3 hours. So arrive approx 14.45.

Tide Sat 2.7.16, HW Dover= 09.55 BST.  HW L/Hampton = 10.15 BST, HW Arundel= 11.05, HW Houghton=11.45.

Due to the rapidly ebbing tide, stopping for a break on the way is probably not feasible. Of course a couple of cars at least need to be set up at Littlehampton during the morning (An alternative is for the drivers to get a train back at cost of £4.10, while the non-drivers enjoy Littlehampton fish and chips and ice cream!).

Sun – paddle from Arundel up to Pulborough:

Tides: Sun 3.7.16, Dover HW= 10.53BST,  HW L/Hampton = 11.12BST , HW Houghton= 1hr 30 after Littlehampton, =12.42. Hw Pulb = 15.07, so to do 8 miles with tide, say 3.0 hours (maybe less), so launch at 12.00.

Again we need to set cars at Pulborough Rail station car park  Map ref 042185 postcode RH201SG , - there is a parking charge at station. (In Pulborough turn west onto A283 (towards Petworth). Station is a few hundred metres on right just before railway bridge).

(Unless we can persuade a couple of non-paddlers to meet us! In which case the river bridge, where we finish, is map ref 046185, postcode RH20 2BJ).

Camping:

Due to Club and National Park regulations, we cannot have a club ‘meet’ in this National Park without a long notice term. So this is not a club camping meet. Attendees will need to camp as individual units.
