As a section of the Camping and Caravanning Club, all our camping events are open to Camping and Caravanning Club members (including Canoe-camping Club members) only. Anyone participating must be a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club before attending a meet.

Please remember to bring your Club membership cards to all club events, since we are required to check and record memberships are current.  We also need to record BRITISH CANOEING numbers for those who have them. Paddlers need to be a member of the Canoe-camping Club and/or one of Britain's paddlesport National Governing Bodies*.   These are needed to ensure that we are covered by the Club's and British Canoeing's insurance.
Canoeing and kayaking are ‘assumed risk’ ‘water contact’ activities, however serious accidents are very rare.
Participants should be aware of and accept these risks, and be responsible for their own action and involvement.
All participants in club trips or meets do so at their own risk, and neither the Club nor its officers can accept any liability for loss or injury of any kind sustained whilst on a Club trip, meet or other activity.

Run Leader: Kevin East (tel – 01932 562111 and 07941 501224 on the day).

This River Wey paddle starts at Blackboys Bridge, heads south upstream along the canal navigation to a point between  Pyrford Lock and the Walsham Flood Gates where, after a quick snack and all being well, we cross over to the natural river returning north through Brooklands and back up the canal to the starting point, totalling 11.5 miles. There will be flow on the natural river which after rains can be swift in places with a risk of grounding and/or broaching/entanglement on fallen branches or trees. Paddlers should be competent manoeuvring in moving water. There is one awkward get out on the natural river.

Parking along Addlestone Road, Addlestone, Surrey KT15 2RX, w3w: ///using.dust.allows , Lat/Long: 51.371806, -0.472172 , OS: TQ 06444 64746. Meet ready to paddle at 10:00am to then be on the water and away by 10:30am.

This is a licensed waterway requiring either British Canoeing Membership or a Wey Navigation Licence. Due to the presence of Floating Pennywort and other invasive species it is important to follow the "Check Clean Dry" bio-security measures after paddling on this river. Please contact the run leader if intending to paddle.
