As a section of the Camping and Caravanning Club, all our camping events are open to Camping and Caravanning Club members (including Canoe-camping Club members) only. Anyone participating must be a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club before attending a meet.

Please remember to bring your Club membership cards to all club events, since we are required to check and record memberships are current.  We also need to record BRITISH CANOEING numbers for those who have them. Paddlers need to be a member of the Canoe-camping Club and/or one of Britain's paddlesport National Governing Bodies*.   These are needed to ensure that we are covered by the Club's and British Canoeing's insurance.
Canoeing and kayaking are ‘assumed risk’ ‘water contact’ activities, however serious accidents are very rare.
Participants should be aware of and accept these risks, and be responsible for their own action and involvement.
All participants in club trips or meets do so at their own risk, and neither the Club nor its officers can accept any liability for loss or injury of any kind sustained whilst on a Club trip, meet or other activity.

Sunday 23rd April 2023 - River Mole, Stepping Stones Dorking to Leatherhead

Run Leader: Contact Kevin East (tel – 01932 562111 and 07941 501224 on the day)

Please contact the run leader as early as possible to allow planning for car shuttles and parking.

This is a downstream paddle that will require a car shuttle at the start and finish. This paddle is subject to water levels and may be diverted in the week leading up to the paddle if necessary. Expect flowing water, multiple tree obstacles and possible grounding. Paddlers should be confident manoeuvring their craft on moving water in tight spaces and able to break out of a quick flowing stream.

Cars arriving from the south may be asked to go straight to the Stepping Stones Car Park just North of Dorking on the A24 (south carriageway). Location: w3w: custom.pulled.host, Lat/Long: 51.249259, -0.324143, OS: TQ 17059 51343, Postcode: RH5 6AE.  Parking free for National Trust Members. Arrive by 9:00 am to off load boats and kit. At 9:30am we will then take as many cars as possible to Leatherhead (see below) whilst leaving someone to look after the boats and kit.

Cars arriving from the north may be asked to go straight to Leatherhead, Bridge Street Car Park (or Minchin Close opposite if full). Parking is free Sundays. Location w3w: enter.spell.snacks, Lat/Long 51.294187, -0.332277, OS: TQ 16378 56326, Postcode: KT22 8BL. Arrive by 9:30am with the possibility of combining boats, kit and people in fewer cars and also reserving spaces in car park. Await cars arriving from Steeping Stones circa 10:00am which will then park up. Pick up drivers and proceed to Stepping Stones Car Park (see above).

We may then have a further car shuttle to move as many cars as possible to Dorking Halls Car Park, Reigate Road, Dorking (free on Sundays). Location: w3w: charm.mime.legend, Lat/Long: 51.234597, -0.324531, OS: TQ 17069 49712, Postcode: RH4 1RQ.
