As a section of the Camping and Caravanning Club, all our camping events are open to Camping and Caravanning Club members (including Canoe-camping Club members) only. Anyone participating must be a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club before attending a meet.

Please remember to bring your Club membership cards to all club events, since we are required to check and record memberships are current.  We also need to record BRITISH CANOEING numbers for those who have them. Paddlers need to be a member of the Canoe-camping Club and/or one of Britain's paddlesport National Governing Bodies*.   These are needed to ensure that we are covered by the Club's and British Canoeing's insurance.
Canoeing and kayaking are ‘assumed risk’ ‘water contact’ activities, however serious accidents are very rare.
Participants should be aware of and accept these risks, and be responsible for their own action and involvement.
All participants in club trips or meets do so at their own risk, and neither the Club nor its officers can accept any liability for loss or injury of any kind sustained whilst on a Club trip, meet or other activity.

RIVER ARUN and RIVER ADUR WEEKEND
From Friday 05 May 2023
To Sunday 07 May 2023

5-7th May 2023 – Arun and Adur Weekend

Run Leader/Meet Organiser: Martin Dunn

Please note that only Friday night campers will be able to join our Saturday River Arun Paddle due to restrictions at the launch site. Day paddlers are welcome to join us for the River Adur Paddle from Shoreham on the Sunday.

The Saturday paddle on the R Arun will be from Ford to Pulborough making use of the incoming tide and will require a car shuttle. This is a total of 16.1 miles which last year we covered in 4 hours including a lunch stop. Paddlers will be briefed on launch times etc at the campsite.

The campsite is at Ford near Arundel. CCC Members wishing to camp with the club will need to provide the meet organiser (me) with the following details by Saturday 15th April 2023 (these are the campsite requirements not mine!):  name of each adult; mobile phone number; postal address; whether tent, camper van or caravan with overall length of any caravans or motorhomes; car or camper van Reg No, colour, make and model; estimated time of arrival; and which nights you are camping. Payment is not required by this date. Fees per night are £12 per person plus £2 per vehicle. These are non-electric pitches only, anyone requiring an electric hook up should contact me as soon as possible.

The Sunday paddle on the River Adur is from Shoreham to above Upper Beeding and back, again using the tide. If conditions are favourable, some of us may walk to Bramber Castle during lunch whilst waiting for the tide to turn.

High tide at Shoreham is 1:16 pm. Due to parking I would suggest arriving early i.e. by 10:00am for an 11:00am launch, arriving back to Shoreham around 4pm.

Meet by 10:30am on Harbour Way near the junction with The Moorings in Shoreham, W3W:earful.cleans.crafts, lat/long 50.830005, -0.254333,  OS: TQ 2303 0483.
