A 10 -12 mile out and back paddle from Spade Oak, Bourne End to Ray Mill Island. There is the option to include Hedsor Water.

Programme and Notes
Advisable to meet by 9:30 a.m. to ensure a space in the car park (height restrictor) by Spade Oak Farm, Coldmoorholme Lane, Bourne End, Post Code SL8 5PS, OS: 175/SU 88379 87516, Lat/Long 51.579587, -0.72593987 , w3w: bunch.value.branched . This is a turning off the A4155 adjacent to a roundabout to the west of Bourne End.
To reach the river at Spade Oak it necessary to use the railway level crossing. Please take care in doing so. A trolley is recommended.
Launch before 10.30 and paddle downstream to Cookham Lock with option to paddle up and back Hedsor Water before continuing to Maidenhead. Land at Ray Mill Island (café & toilets), by Boulters Weir for the lunch stop before returning to Spade Oak.

British Canoeing membership or an Environment Agency licence obtainable on the day from locks is required.
The trip is suitable for all in kayak or open canoe.
