A 10mile paddle from Reading to Shiplake and back. Two locks at Sonning and Shiplake. St Patrick’s Stream is a side stream with a good flow, joins the River Loddon at Wargrave that leads into the Thames below Shiplake Lock.

Programme and Notes: Meet by 10.00am at, Thames Valley Park, Reading RG6 1PQ (MR 175/ SU73741 74035 , w3w: soup.angel.lucky , lat/long: 51.460501 , -0.93997478) off the non-motorway extension of the M329. Park on the road near the Wokingham Waterside Centre as the car park has been closed to the public.
We will launch at the landing area by the car park nearby. Bring a trolley should it be required.
St Patrick’s Stream is taken on the outward leg, returning to Reading on the Thames. The lunch stop will be at Shiplake or nearby.
A British Canoeing Membership card or an Environment Agency licence is required.
The trip is suitable for all in kayak or open canoe.
